Overview

You can view the individual Journals that make up a particular number on a report by clicking on the number. See this article for more information on running Joiin reports.

Simply run any Joiin Financial report from the left menu and click on the number you want to drill-down on.

A list of the underlying journals will be displayed.

This shows all the Journals for the selected Account, Company(s) and date range. Information such as the Date, Reference and Gross amount will be displayed. You can click on a link to see the related transaction (Invoice, Bill etc.) in the source system.

Some things to note

  • Journals will be displayed in the currency of the original transaction, regardless of the reporting currency chosen.
  • Journals are not available for Manual (CSV uploaded) companies or Sage companies.
  • Eliminations or Adjustments that have been added may mean the report value doesn't match the total of the journal records.
  • On the Balance Sheet report, only transactions between the selected dates are shown, without the opening balance. It will only show journals created between the two dates, so any carried-over amounts won’t appear.
  • If you have recently added a Xero company, it is possible that not all Journals are downloaded immediately - this is due to Xero API limits we have no control over. You will see a message saying "We're still processing journals data for the following companies" if this is the case.

Search by Text

You can search for text within the results by entering text in the Search by text box. The search will be performed across all the fields and any journal records with matching text in any of its fields will be displayed.

Filtering by Type

You can filter the results by the type of Journal record, e.g. Invoice, Credit Note etc. Simply click on the type box and select the desired types.

Sorting

You can click on the column heading to sort the results by that criteria. The initial click will sort ascending and an up arrow will be displayed in the column heading, e.g.

Click again to sort descending - the direction of the arrow will change:
