This article explains the process of amending acquired companies so that any values/figures from before the acquisition date are not included in reports.
To do so, please complete the following:
1. Connect the Acquired company by using the Add Company button on the companies page
2. Run a Trial Balance for the Acquired company only
3. Set the dates for this report to be the 1st month prior to acquisition
4. Select the To Previous Period filter and set this to show the maximum number of previous periods available for that company
Example of the filters required for a company acquired on Jan 2024:
5. Download the monthly Trial Balance you have created to Excel in order to keep a record of these figures
6. Go to the companies page and select the 3 Dot Menu beside the name of the acquired company
7. Select Adjustments to open the adjustments page
8. Download a CSV template to Excel by clicking the link shown below the file drop box
9. Copy the downloaded figures from your Trial Balance report into the Excel template and multiply all figures by -1
10. Re-upload the template that has now been filled out with the relevant values to Joiin
Once completed, any values before the date you have selected will be removed from future reports.
In cases where the pre-acquisition data is needed in reports, the adjustment can be disabled using the toggle in the top right corner of the page.
