How to create a nested group

Modified on Thu, 2 Jan at 10:33 AM

For more information on creating custom reports check out our support document.

Nested groups can be created in Joiin by moving a grouping into another grouping. This can help with creating subgroups to better match existing report structures.

To create a nested group in your custom report:

1. Create or edit a custom report by navigating to the Custom Reports section on the left-hand taskbar

(The Pen icon can be selected to edit an existing report and the 'Add report' button to create a new custom report)

    2. Click the New Group button at the top of the report editor

    3. Give the group you have created a name and select the relevant This group contains and This group contains accounts where options before selecting Accept to save your changes

    4. Create another group using steps 2 and 3

    5. Click on the three-dot menu beside the group you are looking to nest

    6. Hover over the Move option from the drop-down

    7. Then hover over Move to and select the group that you would like to place the nested group into

Once you are happy with your custom report, click the blue Save button at the top of your report to save your work.

NOTE: When creating nested groups, Joiin will only support up to 2 nested levels. EG, Group A can contain Group B, which then also contains Group C. However, no further groups can be nested in Group C.
