The COA Suggestion feature helps map and group accounts together so that multiple accounts appear under a single name in all reports. This is useful for:
Identifying and correcting naming inconsistencies across entities
Grouping similar accounts, such as bank accounts
Managing regional categorisation differences, e.g., Expense accounts
There are two ways to organise your Chart of Accounts in Joiin, and this guide will explain both methods:
COA Suggestion (AI-Powered)
This AI-powered feature tidies up accounts with similar names.
It aligns accounts that have the same name but different account types.
Manual Selection
Manually select GL accounts using the tick box.
Click Consolidate 2 Accounts to merge them.
Steps to Use the AI-powered COA Suggestion Feature:
Click the Settings icon (top right corner) and select Chart of Accounts.
Click COA Suggestions. Joiin will analyse your GL accounts and suggest amendments.
Choose the most appropriate Account type or Account group name, the two options are shown below
Click Accept Suggestions to confirm your selection. Joiin will move to the next suggestion.
You can apply suggestions one at a time or process all and apply multiple at once.
Steps to Use the Manual COA Selection Feature:
Click the Settings icon (top right corner) and select Chart of Accounts.
Tick off the accounts you want to consolidate together.
Tap on the button 'Consolidate 2 Accounts.'
Choose the one account that will be set as a primary account. The other accounts will be merged into the primary account.
Tap on the 'Merge' button.
