Q. What does the Xero Integration do?
Joiin pulls in account data from Xero which is uses to produce consolidated reports. It combines data from multiple Xero organisations, performs any currency conversion and generates the reports and charts. Joiin does not write any data to Xero, it is purely read only. A data flow diagram showing the main flows between Xero and Joiin is shown below.
Q. How do I disconnect from Xero?
You can disconnect from Xero any time either through the Joiin or App or through your Xero account.
To disconnect through Xero select Settings from the main menu underneath your Organisation name at the top left, then click on Connected Apps. Joiin should appear as one of the connected apps. Click on the Disconnect app button to disconnect Joiin.
To disconnect using Joiin go to the Companies page. Select the Xero Company you wish to disconnect, click on the menu icon at the top right and select Configure. Click on the Remove button to disconnect and remove the company from Joiin.
Q. When and how does data sync occur?
Joiin synchronises your Xero data automatically every 24 hours. When you add a Xero company for the first time an initial synchronisation will occur. 24 hours after that and every subsequent 24 hours the synchronisation will occur automatically. If you wish to manually perform a synchronisation at any time you can do so by selecting Refresh Data from the menu at the top right of the Company you wish to sync.
During data synchronisation Joiin will pull in all the latest organisation data and chart of accounts for your Xero organisation. It will also pull all the Trial Balance account data for each month in the period you selected when you first set up the Company in Joiin. If you wish to change the period you can do so by selecting Configure from the menu at the top right of the company you wish to change. For more information see the Managing Companies user guide.
